"If you would swim on the bosom of the ocean of Truth, you must reduce yourself to a zero." Ghandi

I didn't know why the fool gave me so much trouble over the past couple of months until I worked on this illustration. I created the image of the fool here as an almost Christ like figure holding a torch to illuminate his way off the cliff. In his other arm he holds a child and he also extends his arm to hold the source of the light. The fool is perched almost magnetically on the edge of the precipice. He clearly wears a crown, whether it has thorns I will leave to your interpretation. This image is the product of some Gnostic ideas I have adhered to and some sort of filtering my mind has done on the subject of the Merovingian bloodline in the light of what Kenneth Grant has to say on the subject (article) There is a deep vein running through the magickal current and indeed history threading ideas and images together. The light here illuminates an old world map thus the precipice is not on this earth but instead located somewhere ethereal in space. It is common to imagine the abyss as some hole in the ground and the cliff is often seen in a similar light. We must elevate ourselves above and beyond this narrow lines of thinking and look beyond the obvious. The light not only illuminates the map but reflects back on the figure holding its source. If Christ was the light of this world then it must be reasonable to suggest the world acts as a mirror shining some light back at the unseen universe. It would be unreasonable to think this light was at some point absorbed into oblivion. Now I wonder why I am talking about the Christ when I would rather be discussing the finer points of the abyss and what lies beyond.
